The disc also has a feature that can help you set up the sound system of your DVD player, but I did not use that feature so I can't say just how well that works.Appliances Clothing, Shoes & Accessories Computer Products Educational Products Electronics Extended Service Plans Extended Warranties Furniture Health Products Home & Garden Home Improvement Janitorial Machines & Tools Office Outdoors Projectors Security Systems Shop By Brand Time and Weather Toys & Games Uncategorized Useful InformationĬomputer Products > Computer Products Accessories > Maxell 190048 CD Lens Cleaner, Cleans & Demagnetizes with Maxell's Patented Thunderon Brush System, Restores CD Player & CD-ROM Drive Performance, Removes Dust and Debris from Laser Lens, Automatic Cleaning System with Instructions on Disk, UPC 025215190049 (19-0048 19 0048) If you have a DVD player (or CD player) that is no longer performing properly, I'd recommend you try using a Maxell DVD lens cleaner disc on the player. This Maxell disc really works! I did note that its little cleaning brushes are a bit longer than those on the Memorex disc, which is probably why the Maxell cleaner did a better job. A quick test session of playing several DVD's in the player showed that the player was now working just fine. I ran the cleaning disc through two cleaning cycles (it only takes about one minute per cycle). I got one at a reasonable price from an eBay seller. After reading a lot of online reviews of lens cleaning discs made by various companies, I decided to buy a Maxell lens cleaning disc.

Even after using it several times, our DVD player still had the same problems.

I first bought a Memorex brand lens cleaning disc at a local store. I decided to try using a laser lens cleaning disc on the player before starting to shop for a replacement player on eBay. The player in the bedroom had begun to occasionally freeze up while playing DVD's, and with some discs it would simply say it could not read the disc at all. Even used models of these players can be somewhat expensive (their convenience is well worth the higher cost, though!). We own two Sony DVD players that can hold up to 400 DVD's each. This lens cleaner worked better than another brand I'd tried.
